Font:
- The font of the assignment needs to be clear and simple so that the reader can easily read the report. Use Calibri, Arial or Times New Roman. Once you select a topic, use it throughout your paper.
- Use black text on a white paper. Avoid using any kind of colored background as it will make your paper look unprofessional. It will also create a bad impression on the reader.
- Use 11 or 12 font size for writing the content and 12 and 14 for the headings of the paper.
Spacing and Headings:
- The academic papers usually require double spacing as it allows space for the teacher or professor’s remarks. So, use 2 or double line spacing and wide margins.
- There must be a one line space between paragraphs.
- If you are writing questions that are short then leave one line space in between them, but if the questions are long then start every question on a separate page.
- The font used for heading should be 14. It should not be same as of the content. Bold all your headings, but avoid underlining them and using Italics.
Cover page:
- The cover page usually provides an identity to the paper or makes it distinguished from others. It contains details like the title of the paper, institution’s name, professor or instructor’s name, student’s name and the date of the submission.
- All this information needs to be written in the center of the paper, starting from one-third of the page.
- Numbering helps in marking pages, figures and diagrams included in the paper so that they can easily be found without going through all.
- Number all of the pages, figures and diagrams except for the title page.
- There are different types of numbering styles like Roman, English alphabets, etc. that you can use for numbering your report.
